Psychiatric Medication Management

At Meadowlark Mind & Body, medication should not be rushed. Psychiatric medication decisions are made after reviewing your symptoms, history, sleep, stress, daily functioning, prior medication response, side effects, safety concerns, and treatment goals.

We treat anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood symptoms, sleep problems, and related psychiatric concerns in adults, children, and teens. Initial visits are typically about 60 minutes so there is time to understand the full picture, not just write a prescription.

How We Approach Medication

  • Collaborative decision-making based on your goals and preferences
  • Review of prior medications, responses, and side effects
  • Consideration of sleep, stress, lifestyle, labs, and other contributors when relevant
  • Clear discussion of benefits, risks, alternatives, and follow-up plans
  • Ongoing monitoring, dose adjustments, and safety checks

Medication Safety and Follow-Up

Psychiatric medications can help when used thoughtfully, but they require monitoring. We discuss possible side effects, interactions, and what to watch for between visits. Do not stop or change medications without talking with your prescriber unless you are experiencing an emergency.

Part of a Broader Plan

Medication may be one part of care that also includes therapy-informed strategies, sleep and lifestyle support, and lab-informed psychiatric care when clinically appropriate.
