Dedicated psychotherapy

A grounded place to be heard and helped.

Therapy with Gena is for people who are tired of carrying everything alone. You may be dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship stress, emotional overwhelm, or a life transition that has shaken your sense of direction.

Gena's style is warm, collaborative, and practical. She works to create a space where you can feel heard without being judged, while also learning tools that can help outside of session.

What therapy may help with

Anxiety, panic, and overthinking
Depression, shutdown, and low motivation
Trauma, PTSD symptoms, and painful memories
Emotional overwhelm and reactivity
Relationship stress and boundaries
Grief, identity shifts, and life transitions

How Gena works

Gena draws from evidence-informed approaches and explains them in plain language. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing can help the brain process painful or stuck memories. Dialectical Behavior Therapy teaches skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, boundaries, and getting through intense moments more safely.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps you notice how thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and behaviors affect one another. Cognitive Processing Therapy can be especially helpful for trauma and PTSD when guilt, shame, fear, or self-blame keep showing up. Internal Family Systems work helps you understand different parts of yourself with more curiosity and less criticism.

Gena also uses Motivational Interviewing, solution-focused work, multicultural and integrative therapy, existential reflection, and strengths-based support. In real life, that may look like coping skills, trauma processing, values work, self-compassion, problem-solving, and small changes that help life feel more manageable.

Therapy and therapy-informed psychiatric care are different services.

Meadowlark offers dedicated psychotherapy with Gena Caldwell, LCSW. Therapy-informed psychiatric care refers to practical emotional support and behavioral strategies incorporated into psychiatric appointments. It is not the same service as ongoing psychotherapy with a therapist.
